The 2011 Queensland floods and the resulting destruction require information to be made available, quickly and accessibly to the affected public. The emergency services, the media and individuals have in the space of 2 days either used or created a number of online tools to disseminate that information.
Social media has been used extensively by all parties and twitter in particular has become the source for instant news.
Below are just a small sample of what has been made available. It is only a shame that no library has effectively used any media in this current situation to keep the public informed (either about their own status or events in general).
